OSSSC Forester, Forest Guard & Excise Constable Recruitment 2025 Eligibility Criteria

1. Age Limit (As on 01.01.2025)

  • Forester & Forest Guard: 18 to 32 Years.

  • Excise Constable: 21 to 32 Years.

  • Relaxations:

    • 5 years for SC/ST/SEBC/Women.

    • 10 years for Persons with Disabilities (PwD).

    • Ex-Servicemen as per service period

Educational Qualification

  • Forester: Must have passed +2 Science from a recognized university/board with knowledge in basic Computer skills.

  • Forest Guard: Must have passed High School Certificate Examination (10th) from a recognized Board.

  • Excise Constable: Must have passed +2 Examination or equivalent from a recognized Board/Council.

3. Language Eligibility

Candidates must be able to read, write, and speak Odia and must have passed Middle School/Matriculation with Odia as a language subject or medium of examination.

Selection Process

The selection process consists of two stages:

Stage I: Written Test (100 Marks)

  • Mode: MCQ type (OMR/CBRE).

Candidates shortlisted (3 times the vacancies) will undergo the Physical Standard Measurement (PSM) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET).

A. Physical Standards (Height/Chest)

  • Forester/Forest Guard:

    • Men (UR/SEBC/SC): Height 168 cm, Chest 81-86 cm.

    • Men (ST): Height 158 cm, Chest 81-86 cm

    • Women (All Categories): Height 153 cm.

  • Excise Constable:

    • Men (UR/SEBC): Height 168 cm, Weight 55 kg, Chest 79-84 cm.

    • Men (SC/ST): Height 163 cm, Weight 50 kg, Chest 76-81 cm.

    • Women (UR/SEBC): Height 158 cm, Weight 47.5 kg.

    • Women (SC/ST): Height 153 cm, Weight 45 kg.

B. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

  • Forester/Forest Guard: Walking Test (25 km in 4 hours for Men; 16 km in 4 hours for Women).

  • Excise Constable:

    • Running: 1.6 km in 7 mins (Men) / 9 mins (Women).

    • Long Jump: 3.66 meters (Men) / 2.75 meters (Women) in 3 attempts

Application Fee

  • General / SEBC: ₹500/-.

  • SC / ST / PwD: Exempted.

  • Refund Policy: The fee will be refunded to applicants who actually appear for the examination.
