SAIL MT Recruitment 2025 – Apply Online for 124 Posts

Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has released an official notification for the recruitment of 124 Management Trainees (Technical) through online mode. Eligible engineering graduates can apply on the SAIL careers portal from 15-11-2025 to 15-12-2025.​

SAIL MT Recruitment 2025 Overview

• Degree in Engineering (B.E./B.Tech) with minimum 65% marks (aggregate of all semesters) in any of the 7 disciplines:
  Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechanical, Metallurgy.​

• Final selection and detailed discipline mapping as per notification.

Age Limit (as on 05-12-2025)

• Maximum age: 28 years (not born earlier than 05-12-1997).

• Departmental candidates: upper age limit 45 years.

• Category-wise relaxation as per Government/SAIL rules.​

Salary and Benefits

• During training: Basic Pay ₹50,000/- per month in scale ₹50,000–1,60,000.

• After 1 year successful training: Designated as Assistant Manager (E-1) in pay scale ₹60,000–1,80,000.​

• Other benefits: DA, PF, Gratuity, perquisites under cafeteria approach, HRA/Housing, medical facilities for self and dependents, leave encashment etc.

• Approx. CTC ₹16–17 lakh per annum at minimum of E-1 grade (excluding PRP and location-based allowances).​

• General/OBC (NCL)/EWS: ₹1050/-

• SC/ST/PwBD/ESM/Departmental: ₹300/-

• Payment mode: Online only.​

Selection Process

• Computer Based Test (CBT) – Tentatively Jan–Feb 2026

  • Total 200 marks; two parts:

    • Part I: Domain Knowledge – 100 marks, 40 minutes

    • Part II: Aptitude (QA, English, Reasoning, GA – 25 marks each) – 100 marks, 80 minutes

• Qualifying criteria for GD/Interview:

  • UR/EWS: minimum 50 percentile in each part

  • SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PwBD: minimum 40 percentile in each part.​

• Shortlisted candidates (approx. 1:3 ratio) will appear in Group Discussion & Interview.

• Final merit:

  • CBT – 75% weightage

  • GD – 10%

  • Interview – 15%.​
