Orissa High Court Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualification

• Degree: Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized University.

• Typing Skills: Must have typewriting skills with a minimum speed of 40 words per minute on a computer.

• Computer Qualification: Should have passed PGDCA Course in Computer.

2. Age Limit (As on 13.01.2026)

• Minimum Age: 21 Years.

• Maximum Age: 42 Years.

• Birth Date Criteria: Candidate must not be born earlier than 13.01.1984 and not later than 12.01.2005.

Age Relaxations:

• SC/ST/SEBC & Women: 5 Years.

• PwDs (40%-50% disability): 10 Years.

• PwDs belonging to SC/ST/SEBC: 15 Years (Cumulative).

Application Fee

• General / SEBC: Rs. 500/- (Non-refundable).

• SC / ST / PwD: Exempted from payment of examination fee.

• Payment Mode: Online (Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking).

Selection Process & Syllabus

The recruitment process consists of four stages:

Stage I: Preliminary Examination (150 Marks)

• Duration: 2 Hours.

• Type: Objective Type Questions with Multiple Choice Answers.

• Subjects: General English, General Knowledge, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Aptitude.

• Negative Marking: 0.5 (Half) mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.

• Qualifying Marks: 33% for SC/ST, 40% for others.

Stage II: Language Test (100 Marks)

• Duration: 2 Hours

• Syllabus:

  • Essay in English (300 words): 30 Marks.

  • Precis Writing: 20 Marks.

  • Translation (English to Odia): 20 Marks.

  • Translation (Odia to English): 20 Marks.

  • English Grammar: 10 Marks.

Stage III: Computer Application Test (100 Marks)

• Theory: 50 Marks (30 Minutes).

• Skill Test: 50 Marks (30 Minutes) covering MS Office, MS Access, Internet Operation, File uploading/downloading.

• Qualifying Marks: 50%.

Stage IV: Main Written Examination (Typewriting Test)

• Marks: 100.

• Duration: 10 Minutes.

• Task: Type a printed matter of approximately 400 words at a speed of 40 words per minute.

• Accuracy: 0.25 marks deducted for each mistake. More than 20 mistakes leads to disqualification.
