National Institute of Technology Rourkela (NIT Rourkela) has released an official notification for the recruitment of 36 Junior Research Fellow (JRF) posts. Interested and eligible candidates can apply offline via email through the official NIT Rourkela website. The last date to submit the application form is 08-12-2025

​NIT Rourkela Recruitment 2025 Overview

• Post Graduate degree in basic science OR Graduate/Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course selected through National Eligibility Tests (CSIR-UGC NET/GATE etc.).

• Selection through national-level examinations conducted by Central Govt. Departments/Agencies such as DBT, DST, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MoE, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER, NISER etc.

• Detailed desired qualifications and department-wise requirements are listed in Annexure-I of the official notification.

Age Limit (as on 08-12-2025)

• Upper Age Limit: 28 Years

• Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST/PwD/Female candidates, 3 years for OBC (NCL)

Salary/Stipend

• Year 1 & 2: ₹37,000/- per month + HRA

• Year 3 onwards (till completion of project): ₹42,000/- per month + HRA

• Shortlisting based on merit and project requirement

• Walk-in Interview (Offline) on 09-12-2025 at the respective NIT Rourkela departments

• Only shortlisted candidates will be notified
