The High Court of Orissa, Cuttack has invited online applications from eligible candidates for the recruitment of Translator (Group-B) in the Court’s Establishment. This is a great opportunity for graduates with proficiency in English and Odia.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualification

• A candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University OR other qualification having English/ Odia as an Honours subject.

• Must have adequate knowledge in Computer Application.

2. Age Limit (As on 13.01.2026)

• Minimum Age: 21 Years.

• Maximum Age: 42 Years.

• Birth Date Criteria: Candidate must not be born earlier than 13.01.1984 and not later than 12.01.2005.

Age Relaxations:

• SC/ST/SEBC/Women: 5 Years.

• PwD: 10 Years.

• PwD (SC/ST/SEBC): 15 Years.

• High Court Employees (Group C & D): 5 Years.

Selection Process

The recruitment process consists of four stages:

1. Preliminary Examination (150 Marks):

   • Subjects: General English, General Knowledge, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Aptitude.

   • Format: 150 Objective Type Questions (2 Hours).

   • Negative Marking: 0.5 (Half) mark deducted for each wrong answer.

2. Main Written Examination (300 Marks):

   • Paper 1: Language Test (100 Marks): English (50) & Odia (50). Qualifying in nature.

   • Paper 2: Translation (100 Marks): English to Odia (50) & Odia to English (50).

   • Paper 3: General Awareness & Reasoning (100 Marks): General Awareness (50) & Reasoning (50).

3. Computer Application Test (100 Marks):

   • Theory: 50 Marks (30 mins).

   • Skill Test: 50 Marks (30 mins).

   • Note: This test is qualifying in nature (Minimum 50% required).

4. Viva-Voce Test: 40 Marks.

• SC / ST / PwD: Exempted from payment of fee.
