The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the official recruitment notification for the Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination, 2026 (SSC CHSL 2026). This recruitment drive aims to fill approximately 2,536 tentative vacancies for Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA), Data Entry Operator (DEO), and DEO Grade ‘A’ across various Ministries, Departments, and Offices of the Government of India.
Eligible Class 12 pass candidates can apply online through the official portal starting September 07, 2026.

🎓 Eligibility Criteria (As on October 07, 2026)
1. Educational Qualification
- DEO / DEO Grade ‘A’(Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, SSC, and Ministry of Culture): Must have passed 12th Standard in Science stream with Mathematics as a subject from a recognized Board.
- LDC / JSA & DEO(All other Ministries/Departments): Must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.
- Note: Candidates appearing in their 12th standard exams can also apply, provided their result is declared on or before October 07, 2026.
2. Age Limit (As on August 01, 2026)
- Minimum Age: 18 Years
- Maximum Age: 27 Years
- Candidates born between August 02, 1999 and August 01, 2008 are eligible.
Upper Age Relaxation:
- SC / ST: 5 Years
- OBC: 3 Years
- PwBD (Unreserved): 10 Years
- PwBD (OBC): 13 Years
- PwBD (SC / ST): 15 Years
- Ex-Servicemen (ESM): 3 Years after deduction of military service rendered

📝 Selection Process
The selection for SSC CHSL 2026 will consist of two stages of Computer Based Examinations (CBE), followed by Document Verification:
Stage 1: Tier-I Examination (Objective Type)
- Duration: 60 Minutes
- Negative Marking: 0.50 marks per wrong answer
- Exam Structure:
- English Language (Basic Knowledge) – 25 Questions / 50 Marks
- General Intelligence – 25 Questions / 50 Marks
- Quantitative Aptitude (Basic Arithmetic) – 25 Questions / 50 Marks
- General Awareness – 25 Questions / 50 Marks
Stage 2: Tier-II Examination
- Session I: Mathematical Abilities, Reasoning, English Language, General Awareness, and a Computer Knowledge Test (Qualifying).
- Session II: Skill Test / Typing Test (Mandatory for DEO and LDC/JSA posts).
- Negative Marking: 1 mark per wrong answer in Sections I and II.
1.Complete One-Time Registration (OTR):Must be done on the new website (ssc.gov.in).
Visit ssc.gov.in or download the “my SSC” mobile app. Complete OTR using basic details, contact info, and Aadhaar authentication.
2.Fill Out the Application Form:
Log in using your OTR credentials and click on the ‘Apply’ link for Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination 2026. Enter educational qualifications and pick three exam center preferences.
3.Capture Photo & Documents:
Capture your live photo using the webcam/app as per instructions and upload your scanned signature.
4.Pay Application Fee & Submit:
Pay the ₹100 fee online (if applicable) before October 08, 2026. Submit the form and download/print the final application receipt for reference.
