Salary Structure

Selected candidates will be appointed under Pay Level 6 of the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC).

  • Initial Basic Pay: ₹35,400/- per month
  • Allowances: Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (TA), and other Central Government Railway benefits.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualification

  • Junior Engineer (JE): 3-year Diploma in Engineering or a B.E./B.Tech degree in the relevant engineering discipline from a recognized institution.
  • Depot Material Superintendent (DMS): 3-year Diploma or Degree in Engineering in any discipline.
  • Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA): Bachelor’s Degree in Science (B.Sc) with Chemistry and Physics / Metallurgy from a recognized university.

2. Age Limit (As of 01-01-2026)

  • Minimum Age: 18 Years
  • Maximum Age: 33 Years
  • Age Relaxation: Upper age relaxation applies for reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/Ex-Servicemen/PwBD) per Central Government rules.

Selection Process

The selection process for RRB JE recruitment typically involves three main stages:

  1. Computer-Based Test (CBT-1): Screening/qualifying test covering Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, and General Science.
  2. Computer-Based Test (CBT-2): Specialized technical test focusing on Technical Abilities relevant to the specific engineering/chemistry branch along with General Awareness and Basics of Computers & Environment.
  3. Document Verification (DV) & Medical Examination: Final stage to verify credentials and ensure physical fitness as per railway medical standards.

  2. New Registration: Click on the link for CEN 04/2026 (RRB JE) and complete the primary registration using your active Mobile Number and Email ID.

  4. Upload Documents: Upload scanned copies of your signature, recent photograph, caste certificate (if applicable), and educational documents in the prescribed format.
  5. Pay Application Fee: Pay the required examination fee online via Net Banking, Debit/Credit Card, or UPI.
