Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualifications (As of 30.09.2026)
- Junior Research Fellow (JRF):
- Qualification: Relevant M.E./M.Tech, M.Sc, or B.E./B.Tech in specified branches with prescribed minimum percentage (60% or 6.5 CGPA for M.E./M.Tech; 65% or 6.84 CGPA for M.Sc/B.Tech).
- Mandatory Examination: Candidates must have qualified CSIR-UGC NET (including Lectureship), GATE, or a national-level test conducted by Central Government departments (DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MoE, ICAR, ICMR, IITs, IISc, etc.) with a valid scorecard as of September 30, 2026.
- Research Associate (RA):
- Qualification: Ph.D. in relevant fields OR M.E./M.Tech with a minimum of 3 years of research/design/development experience and at least one research paper in an SCI-listed journal.
- Project Scientist-I (PS-I):
- Qualification: Ph.D. in relevant disciplines OR First-class M.E./M.Tech degree in specialized engineering domains (such as Water Resources, Geoinformatics, RF & Microwave, etc.).
Age Limit & Salary Structure
Age Limit (As of 30.09.2026)
- JRF (Post Codes 01–07): Upper age limit is 28 years.
- RA / Project Scientist-I (Post Codes 08–16): Upper age limit is 35 years.
- Relaxations: 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC-NCL candidates. PwBD and Ex-Servicemen receive relaxation as per Central Government norms.
