The Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC), Chennai has published an official employment notification (Advt No. RRC-01/S&G/2026-27) inviting online applications for recruitment under the Scouts and Guides Quota across Southern Railway and Integral Coach Factory (ICF).

Eligible 10th, 12th, and ITI pass candidates with active Scouts & Guides background can apply online from September 19, 2026 to October 18, 2026.

Note: The 12 Level-1 vacancies under Southern Railway are evenly allocated (2 each) among Chennai, Tiruchchirappalli, Madurai, Palakkad, Thiruvananthapuram, and Salem divisions.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualifications

  • For Level-2 Posts:
    • Class 12 or equivalent with minimum 50% aggregate marks (50% mark constraint is waived for SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen and higher-qualified applicants); OR
    • Class 10 (Matriculation) plus Course Completed Act Apprenticeship (NCVT); OR
    • Class 10 (Matriculation) plus ITI approved by NCVT/SCVT.
  • For Level-1 Posts:
    • Class 10 (Matriculation) pass; OR
    • ITI or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT; OR
    • Class 10 pass with ITI/NAC.

2. Scouts & Guides Qualifications (Mandatory for All Posts)

To qualify under this quota, candidates must satisfy all of the following criteria:

  • Must be a President’s Scout / Guide / Rover / Ranger OR a Himalayan Wood Badge Holder in any section.
  • Must have been an active member of a recognized Scouts & Guides Organization for the last 5 years.
  • Must possess a valid Certificate of Activeness in the prescribed format.
  • Must have attended at least two events at the National Level / All Indian Railway level.
  • Must have attended at least two events at the State Level.

Selection Process & Exam Pattern

The selection carries a maximum of 100 Marks and is broken down into two components:

  1. Written / Hybrid Test (60 Marks):
    • Duration: 60 Minutes (1 Hour)
    • Objective Questions: 40 Multiple-Choice Questions (1 mark each)
    • Essay Type Question: 1 Question on Scouts & Guides movement (20 marks)
    • Negative Marking: 1/3rd mark deducted for each wrong objective answer.
  2. Scouts & Guides Certificates Assessment (40 Marks):
    • National Events / National Jamboree Participation: 10 Marks
    • State Events / Rallies Participation: 10 Marks
    • Specialized Scout & Guide Courses: 10 Marks
    • District Rallies Participation: 10 Marks

How to Apply

1.Visit the RRC Chennai Portal:Official Portal.

Go to the official RRC Chennai portal at rrcmas.in and locate Employment Notice No. RRC-01/S&G/2026-27.

2.Complete Online Registration:Account Creation.

Register using your valid Mobile Number and Email Address to obtain your login credentials.

3.Fill Details & Upload Certificates:Details & Uploads.

Select the desired level (Level-1 or Level-2), fill in personal/educational details, and upload scanned copies of your photo (in Scouts/Guides uniform), signature, and active Scouts & Guides certificates.

4.Pay Fee & Submit Application:Final Submission.

Pay the application fee via the online payment gateway, double-check all details, and submit the online application form before October 18, 2026.
