PNB Local Bank Officer Recruitment 2026: Apply Online for 545 Posts (Last Date Extended)

Punjab National Bank (PNB) has issued an official notification for the recruitment of Local Bank Officers (LBO) in Junior Management Grade Scale-I (JMGS-I). A total of 545 vacancies have been announced across 17 states and UTs.

Note: Candidates posted as LBOs will remain in their selected state for a minimum of 9 years of service or until promotion to SMG Scale IV, whichever is earlier.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualification

  • Graduation Degree: Candidates must hold a Graduate degree in any discipline from a university or institution recognized by the Government of India or its regulatory bodies.
  • Valid mark sheets and degree certificates must be held at the time of registration.

2. Mandatory Experience

  • Candidates must possess at least 1 year of post-qualification experience as an Officer or Clerical Cadre in any Scheduled Commercial Bank or Regional Rural Bank (RRB) listed in the Second Schedule of the RBI Act, 1934.

3. Age Limit (As on 01.07.2026)

  • Minimum Age: 20 years
  • Maximum Age: 30 years (Born between 02.07.1996 and 01.07.2006, both dates inclusive).

Age Relaxation:

  • SC / ST: 5 Years
  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 Years
  • PwBD: 10 Years
  • Ex-Servicemen / Commissioned Officers: 5 Years
  • Persons Affected by 1984 Riots: 5 Years

Salary and Pay Scale

Local Bank Officers in JMGS-I will draw pay according to the standard scale:

  • Pay Scale: ₹48,480 – 2000/7 – 62480 – 2340/2 – 67160 – 2680/7 – ₹85,920.
  • Additional Benefits: Dearness Allowance (DA), City Compensatory Allowance (CCA), House Rent Allowance (HRA) / Leased Accommodation, Medical Insurance, Pension under National Pension System (NPS), and Leave Travel Concession (LTC) as per bank rules.

  • Negative Marking:1/4 mark (0.25) is deducted for every incorrect answer.
  • Cut-Off Marks: 40% minimum in each section for Unreserved/EWS categories, and 35% for Reserved categories.

Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT)

Candidates who have not studied the local language of the applied state in Class 10th or 12th will have to undergo and qualify for the Local Language Proficiency Test. Those who submitted proof of studying the language in 10th/12th are exempted.

Personal Interview

Shortlisted candidates will appear for an interview carrying 50 marks. Minimum qualifying marks are 50% for UR/OBC/EWS candidates and 45% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.
