OPTCL Recruitment 2026 : Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualification

• Candidates must possess a Degree in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering with at least 60% marks in aggregate (or equivalent CGPA) from a recognized University/Institution.
• Relaxation: For SC/ST/PwBD candidates, the minimum percentage of marks required is 50%.

2. GATE Score Requirement

• Candidates must have appeared and qualified in GATE 2026 (Paper Code: EE).
• Only GATE 2026 scores are valid; scores from 2025 or prior will not be accepted.

3. Age Limit (As on 01.05.2026)

• Minimum Age: 21 Years
• Maximum Age: 32 Years
• Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC, ST, SEBC, and Women candidates; up to 10 years for PwBD candidates (over and above category relaxation).

4. Language Proficiency

• The candidate must be able to read, write, and speak Odia fluently.

Salary, Training & Service Bond

• Stipend During Training: Candidates will undergo a one-year training period and will receive a stipend of Rs. 50,000/- per month.
• Pay Scale: On successful completion of the training, candidates will be absorbed as Assistant Manager (Electrical) in Level EE-2 in the Pay Matrix: Rs. 56,100 – Rs. 1,77,500/-.
• Service Bond: Selected candidates must execute a service bond of INR 3,00,000/- to successfully complete the training and serve the organization for at least three years.

Selection Process

The final selection will be based on the candidate’s GATE 2026 score and their performance in the Personal Interview.

• GATE 2026 Marks (out of 100): 90% Weightage
• Personal Interview: 10% Weightage

Application Fee

• Unreserved (UR) & SEBC Candidates: Rs. 1180/- (Rs. 1000 + Rs. 180 GST)
• SC / ST / PwBD Candidates (of Odisha only): Rs. 590/- (Rs. 500 + Rs. 90 GST)
• Departmental Candidates (OPTCL regular employees): Exempted from payment
• Payment Mode: Online (Debit/Credit Card/Net Banking/UPI).

3. Fill in all educational and personal details accurately.
4. Upload scanned copies of your recent passport-size photograph, signature, GATE 2026 Scorecard, 10th pass certificate, degree mark sheets, and Odia pass certificate.
5. Pay the requisite application fee online and submit the application form.
6. Take a printout of the finally submitted application and fee receipt for future reference.
