Indian Army NCC Special Entry 125th Course (Women) 2027
The Indian Army has released the official recruitment notification for the NCC Special Entry Scheme 125th Course (Women) starting in April 2027. This scheme provides an opportunity for unmarried female graduates with an NCC ‘C’ Certificate, as well as Wards of Battle Casualties, to join the Indian Army as commissioned officers under the Short Service Commission (Non-Technical).

Eligibility Criteria
1. Nationality
Candidates must be either:
- A citizen of India, or
- A subject of Nepal, or
- A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, East African countries, or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India (holding a certificate issued by the Government of India).
2. Age Limit & Date of Birth
- Age: 19 to 25 years as of 01 January 2027.
- Date of Birth Range: Born not earlier than 02 January 2002 and not later than 01 January 2008 (both dates inclusive).
- Note: Only the date of birth recorded in the Matriculation/Secondary School Examination certificate will be accepted.
3. Educational Qualification & NCC Criteria
For General Candidates (NCC ‘C’ Certificate Holders):
- Education: Graduate degree or equivalent from a recognized university. Final-year students are also eligible to apply, provided they complete their degree before the course starts (by 01 April 2027).
- NCC Service: Minimum 2/3 years of service in the Senior Division/Wing of NCC.
- NCC Grade: Minimum ‘B’ Grade in the NCC ‘C’ Certificate examination.
- Note: Candidates without an NCC ‘C’ Certificate on the date of application submission are not eligible.
For Wards of Battle Casualties:
- Education: Graduate degree from a recognized university.
- NCC Requirement: NCC ‘C’ Certificate is NOT required for this category.
- Eligibility: Available to unmarried daughters (including legally adopted) of Indian Army personnel who were killed in action, died of injuries, wounded/injured, or missing/presumed dead.
Physical Fitness Standards
Shortlisted candidates must maintain basic physical standards prior to joining the training academy:
- 2.4 km Run: Completed in 13 minutes
- Push-ups: 15 repetitions
- Pull-ups: 02 repetitions
- Sit-ups: 25 repetitions
- Squats: 2 sets of 30 repetitions
- Lunges: 2 sets of 10 repetitions
- Swimming: Basic understanding of swimming fundamentals
Selection Process
The selection process for the NCC Special Entry Scheme involves no written exam; selection is directly based on shortlisting and SSB interview performance:
- Shortlisting of Applications: Applications are shortlisted based on performance marks (out of 100), combining graduation percentage and NCC ‘C’ Certificate grading.
- SSB Centre & Date Selection: Shortlisted candidates select their SSB interview center and date on a first-come, first-served basis within a 14-day window.
- SSB Interview (5 Days): Conducted at Selection Centres in Prayagraj, Bhopal, Bengaluru, or Jalandhar.
- Stage I: Screening Test (Officer Intelligence Rating & PPDT). Candidates failing Stage I are screened out on Day 1.
- Stage II: Psychological Tests, Group Testing Officer (GTO) Tasks, and Personal Interview.
- Medical Examination: Recommended candidates undergo a comprehensive medical review.
- Final Merit List: Prepared purely based on marks obtained in the SSB interview (subject to medical fitness and available vacancies).

Key Benefits & Allowances
- Stipend During Training: ₹56,100 per month (Fixed at OTA Chennai for 49 weeks).
- Military Service Pay (MSP): ₹15,500 per month.
- Approximate CTC: ₹17 – 18 Lakhs per annum on commissioning.
- Additional Allowances: Dearness Allowance (DA), Transport Allowance, Children Education Allowance (₹2,250/month per child), Hostel Subsidy (₹6,750/month per child), Dress Allowance (₹20,000/year), and Free Medical Cover.
Service Tenure & Career Progression
- Tenure: Initial Short Service Commission (SSC) for 10 years, extendable by 4 years (up to 14 years).
- Permanent Commission: Option for Permanent Commission (PC) may be considered during the 10th year of service based on organizational needs and eligibility.
- Promotion Timeline:
- Captain: On completion of 2 years of service.
- Major: On completion of 6 years of service.
- Lieutenant Colonel: On completion of 13 years of service.

- Original NCC ‘C’ Certificate (issued on or before application submission date).
- Formula/conversion certificate for CGPA to Percentage issued by the university.
- For Wards of Battle Casualties: Battle Casualty Certificate, Part II Order copy, and Relationship Certificate.
