The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially released the notification for the Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination, 2026 (CHSL). SSC is inviting online applications from eligible candidates to fill approximately 2,536 tentative vacancies for Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA), Data Entry Operator (DEO), and DEO Grade ‘A’ positions across various Ministries, Departments, and Offices of the Government of India.
Interested and eligible 12th-pass candidates can complete their online applications on the official SSC portal or via the mobile app before the registration deadline.

Vacancy & Pay Scale Details
Selected candidates will receive pay scale benefits based on the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) structure:

Eligibility Criteria
1. Educational Qualification (As of October 07, 2026)
- For DEO / DEO Grade ‘A’ (Specific Ministries): Candidates must have passed the 12th Standard in Science stream with Mathematics as a subject from a recognized board (specifically applicable for the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Ministry of Culture, and SSC).
- For LDC / JSA and DEO (All Other Departments): Candidates must have passed the 12th Standard or an equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.
- Note: Appearing candidates whose Class 12 results are declared on or before October 07, 2026 are also eligible.
2. Age Limit (As of August 01, 2026)
- Age Range: 18 to 27 years (Candidates born between August 02, 1999, and August 01, 2008).
Age Relaxation (Upper Age Limit):
- SC / ST: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years
- PwBD (Unreserved): 10 years
- PwBD (OBC): 13 years
- PwBD (SC / ST): 15 years
- Ex-Servicemen (ESM): 3 years (after deduction of service rendered)
Application Fee
- General / OBC / EWS (Male Candidates): ₹100
- Women Candidates (All Categories): Exempted (Nil)
- SC / ST / PwBD / Ex-Servicemen (ESM): Exempted (Nil)
- Payment Mode: Online via BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or Visa/MasterCard/Maestro/RuPay Cards.
Selection Process
The selection process for SSC CHSL 2026 consists of two sequential phases:
- Tier-I Examination (Computer-Based):
- Objective-type, multiple-choice exam testing English Language, General Intelligence, Quantitative Aptitude, and General Awareness (100 questions / 200 marks in 60 minutes).
- Negative marking: 0.50 marks per incorrect answer.
- Tier-II Examination (Computer-Based):
- Divided into multiple sections covering Mathematical Abilities, Reasoning, English, General Awareness, Computer Knowledge Test, and a mandatory Skill Test / Typing Test for DEO and LDC/JSA posts.
How to Apply Online for SSC CHSL 2026
- One-Time Registration (OTR): Visit the official portal at ssc.gov.in or open the “my SSC” mobile app and complete your One-Time Registration (old portal OTRs will not be valid).
- Fill the Application Form: Log in using your credentials and select the SSC CHSL Examination 2026. Fill in personal details, educational qualifications, and exam center preferences.
- Capture Photograph & Upload Documents: Follow the instructions to upload your signature and capture/upload your live photograph.
- Pay Application Fee: Pay ₹100 using any online payment mode (if applicable).
- Final Submission: Preview the application form carefully, submit it, and download/print a copy for future reference.
