The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), under the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEF&CC), has officially released a recruitment notification (Advt. No. 02/WQM-II/2025-Admin.(R)) inviting online applications for 51 contractual positions. Detailed Eligibility Criteria
1. Scientist-D
Educational Qualification: 1st Class Master’s in Environmental Science / Natural Science OR 1st Class B.E./B.Tech (Environmental/Chemical/Civil/Energy & Environment/Biotechnology).
Publications: Cumulative Impact Factor of published papers $\ge 10$ (UGC CARE/Scopus) OR minimum 5 published books/chapters (ISBN) OR minimum 5 CPCB/SPCB technical reports.
Experience: 7 years of relevant practical experience in pollution abatement and sewage management.
2. Scientist-C
Educational Qualification: Same as Scientist-D.
Publications: Cumulative Impact Factor $\ge 7$OR minimum 3 published books/chapters OR minimum 3 CPCB/SPCB technical reports.
Experience: 5 years of relevant practical experience in environmental management.
3. Scientist-B
Educational Qualification: Same Master’s/Bachelor’s qualification as above.
Educational Qualification: 1st Class M.Sc. (Desirable: M.Sc. in Botany or Zoology with $\ge 75\%$ marks).
Additional Criteria: Valid GATE score ($\ge 90\%$ percentile) OR NET-JRF qualified + minimum 1 published research paper / book chapter / technical report.
8. Data Entry Operator (DEO)
Educational Qualification: 1st Class Bachelor’s Degree in Science OR BCA.
Skill Test: Must clear typing/skill test on computer (English typing: 45 wpm, Hindi typing: 35 wpm) along with proficiency in MS Office.
9. Field Assistant
Educational Qualification: 10+2 (Higher Secondary) passed in Science stream with minimum 55% marks.
Skill Requirements: Practical knowledge of water and wastewater sampling and sample preservation.
Selection Process
Shortlisting/Screening: Applications will be screened based on qualifications, experience, or scores. If the number of applications is large, CPCB reserves the right to hold a written examination or impose higher cutoff criteria.
Document Verification: Candidate verification of original mark sheets, experience certificates, photo ID proof, and date of birth documents.
Personal Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview in New Delhi.
