Available Posts Include: Assistant Audit Officer, Assistant Accounts Officer, Assistant Section Officer (CSS, IB, Railways, MEA, etc.), Inspector of Income Tax, Inspector (Central Excise / Preventive Officer / Examiner), Assistant Enforcement Officer, Sub Inspector (CBI / NIA), Junior Statistical Officer (JSO), Auditor, Accountant, Postal Assistant, Tax Assistant, and Upper Division Clerks.

Eligibility Criteria
1. Educational Qualification (As on 01.08.2026)

For Junior Statistical Officer (JSO): Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University with at least 60% Marks in Mathematics at 12th standard level OR Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects at the degree level.

For Statistical Investigator Grade-II: Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects from a recognized University or Institute.

For Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer: Bachelor’s Degree in any subject. (Desirable: CA, CMA, CS, Masters in Commerce/ Business Studies/ Business Administration/ Business Economics).

For All Other Posts: A standard Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or equivalent.
2. Age Limit (As on 01.08.2026)
Depending on the specific post applied for, candidates must fall within one of the following age brackets:

18 to 27 years

20 to 30 years

18 to 32 years (specifically for Junior Statistical Officer)
Age Relaxation:

SC/ST: 5 years

OBC: 3 years

PwBD: 10 years (13 years for OBC, 15 years for SC/ST)

Ex-Servicemen (ESM): 3 years after the deduction of military service rendered.

Selection Process
The SSC CGL 2026 selection process will be conducted in two stages:

Tier-I (Computer Based Examination): A compulsory, qualifying objective-type test consisting of General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension.

Tier-II (Computer Based Examination): A comprehensive merit-deciding examination divided into papers depending on the post. Paper-I is compulsory for all posts, while Paper-II is for JSO and Paper-III is for Assistant Audit/Accounts Officers.

Note: Certain posts like Inspector (Excise/Preventive/Examiner), Sub-Inspector (CBI/NIA), and posts in BRO will have an additional Physical Standards/Physical Efficiency Test and Medical Test.
How to Apply SSC CGL Recruitment 2026

Visit the new official website of the Staff Selection Commission: https://ssc.gov.in.

New users must complete the One-Time Registration (OTR) process on the new portal (older OTRs from ssc.nic.in are not valid).

Log in using your Registration Number and Password.

Navigate to the ‘Latest Notifications’ tab and click on the ‘Apply’ link for the “Combined Graduate Level Examination, 2026”.

Fill out the application form carefully and choose your preferred examination centers.

Upload your live photograph directly through the website’s camera module (no pre-existing photos allowed) and upload a scanned copy of your signature.

Pay the application fee (if applicable) and submit the form.

Download and save a printout of the final submitted application for future reference.
