Income Tax Kolkata Sports Quota Recruitment 2026: Apply Offline for 82 Tax Assistant & MTS Posts

The Office of the Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax (Pr. CCIT), West Bengal & Sikkim Region, has released a recruitment notification under the Sports Quota for 82 vacancies in the cadre of Tax Assistant (TA) and Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS).

Eligible and meritorious sportspersons can apply offline via post along with submitting a supplementary online Google Form. The offline application window is open until September 30, 2026.

🎯 Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualification & Age Limit (as on 01/07/2026)

Tax Assistant (TA)	Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university or equivalent.	18 to 27 Years
Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS)	Matriculation (Class 10 Pass) or equivalent from a recognized board.	18 to 25 Years

• Age Relaxation:
  • UR / OBC Candidates: Up to 5 years.
  • SC / ST Candidates: Up to 10 years.

2. Sports Qualification Criteria

Applicants must have represented/achieved positions in any of the following events between January 1, 2022, and June 30, 2026:

1. Represented the Country in International Competitions.
2. Represented a State/UT in Senior or Junior National Championships.
3. Represented a University in Inter-University Tournaments or Khelo India University Games (Medal winners up to 3rd place).
4. Medal winners in Khelo India Youth Games (above 18 years), Khelo India Winter Games, or Khelo India Para Games.
5. Represented State School Teams in National Sports/Games for Schools conducted by SGFI.
6. For Chess: IM / GM Title holders or Chess Olympiad participants (Open Category).

🏅 Order of Preference for Selection

During shortlisting, priority is given in the following sequence:

1. Preference 1: International representation (cleared by MYAS).
2. Preference 2: Medal winners (Up to 3rd position) in Senior/Junior National Championships.
3. Preference 3: Medal winners in Inter-University Tournaments / Khelo India University Games.
4. Preference 4: Medal winners in Khelo India Youth/Winter/Para Games.
5. Preference 5: Medal winners in National School Games.
6. Preference 6: Participants in the above competitions who did not win a medal.

⚙️ Selection Process

1. Scrutiny of Applications: Initial shortlisting based on educational background, age, and best sporting records during 01.01.2022 – 30.06.2026.
2. Document Verification (DV): Verification of original sports certificates, identity, and educational credentials.
3. Ground / Field Proficiency Test: Practical skill evaluation in the respective sport/game.
4. Data Entry Skill Test (Only for Tax Assistant): Typing speed test of 8,000 key depressions per hour.
5. Final Merit List: Prepared based on sports achievements combined with performance in the field proficiency test.

📂 Required Documents (Self-Attested Photocopies)

Candidates must attach self-attested copies of the following with the application form:

• Proof of Date of Birth (Class 10th Certificate / Birth Certificate).
• Photo ID Proof (Aadhaar Card / Voter ID / PAN Card / Driving License / Passport).
• Educational Certificates and Marksheets (10th, 12th, and Graduation Degree).
• Sports Achievement Certificates along with prescribed Forms 1 to 5 issued by the competent authority.
• Caste Certificate (SC/ST/OBC) and Age Relaxation Certificate (if applicable).
• Self-Declaration (Annexure-B regarding Doping/Unfair Means).
• No Objection Certificate (NOC) if currently employed in government service.

📝 How to Apply (Offline Procedure)

1. Download Form: Download the prescribed offline application form (Annexure-A) from the official website or notification PDF.
2. Fill Details: Fill out all columns carefully in block letters. Select your preference for TA/MTS and your respective sport.
3. Enclose Documents: Attach self-attested photocopies of all required educational and sports credentials.
4. Envelope Superscription: Enclose the application in an envelope and clearly superscribe on top:
   "APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF TAX ASSISTANT / MULTI TASKING STAFF UNDER SPORTS QUOTA"
