The South Indian Bank Ltd. (SIB), a leading Scheduled Commercial Bank headquartered in Thrissur, Kerala, has released an official recruitment notification for the position of Junior Officer / Business Promotion Officer (BPO). This is a target-based sales role offered initially on a contract basis.

Eligibility Criteria (As of 31.07.2026)

  • Educational Qualification: Graduation in any stream from a recognized university.
  • Work Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a Bank or NBFC handling retail assets or liability products.
  • Age Limit: Maximum 30 years (Candidates must be born on or after August 1, 1996).
    • Age Relaxation: 5 years relaxation for SC/ST candidates.

Ineligibility Note: Candidates who previously attended a Group Discussion (GD) or Personal Interview (PI) for the Junior Officer role under any earlier SIB notifications and were not selected are not eligible to reapply.

Postings & Regional Distribution

While officers are transferable anywhere in India at the Bank’s discretion, initial postings are focused across four primary regions:

  • Delhi Region: NCT of Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Jammu & Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh.
  • Mumbai Region: Maharashtra.
  • Pune Region: Goa, Maharashtra.
  • Ahmedabad Region: Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan.

(Preference will be given to candidates proficient in the local language of the respective region).

Salary Structure & Benefits

The total initial Cost to Company (CTC) is ₹7.85 Lakhs per annum, structured as follows:

  • Fixed CTC (includes NPS contribution): ₹4.49 Lakhs per annum
  • Variable Pay (Performance-Based): ₹2.88 Lakhs per annum
  • Health Insurance Premium (Bank Paid): ₹0.48 Lakhs per annum (Coverage: ₹5.25 Lakhs)

Additional Allowances:

  • Special Region Allowance: After 3 months of active service and based on performance evaluation, candidates posted in Delhi, Mumbai, and Pune will receive ₹10,000/month, while those in Ahmedabad will receive ₹5,000/month.
  • Official Duty Expenses: Lodging, halting, and travel allowances for official duties as per bank norms.

Terms of Employment

  • Contract Duration: Initially for 3 years, renewable based on performance evaluations and business requirements.
  • Career Progression: Upon completion of the contract, high-performing candidates may be considered for regular absorption into Assistant Manager (Scale I) at the Bank’s sole discretion and subject to prevailing rules.

Selection Process

The selection process consists of three main stages:

  1. Shortlisting of Applications
  2. Group Discussion (GD)(Elimination Stage)
  3. Personal Interview (PI) & Psychometric Assessment

(Only candidates qualifying through the Group Discussion will move forward to the Personal Interview stage).
