East Coast Railway GDCE Recruitment 2026: Apply Online for 1,421 Posts
Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC), East Coast Railway, Bhubaneswar has published an official notification (Notification No. ECoR/Pers/RRC-GDCE/2026, dated 07.08.2026) for the General Departmental Competitive Examination (GDCE) 2026.
This recruitment drive aims to fill 1,421 vacancies across various Safety and Non-Safety categories, including Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP), Station Master, Goods Trains Manager, Junior Engineer (JE), Technicians, Junior Clerk cum Typist, and Commercial Clerk cum Ticket Collector.
Important Note: This is an internal recruitment scheme (GDCE). Only regular, eligible employees serving in East Coast Railway (including the erstwhile Waltair division/SCoR) holding lien in ECoR are eligible to apply. RPF/RPSF personnel and general open-market candidates are not eligible.

Eligibility Criteria
Educational & Technical Qualifications
- Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP): Matriculation/SSLC plus ITI (NCVT/SCVT) in a relevant trade OR Act Apprenticeship OR 3-Year Diploma/Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Automobile Engineering.
- Station Master: Graduation / Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university.
- Goods Trains Manager: Graduation / Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university.
- Junior Engineer (JE): 3-Year Diploma in relevant Engineering stream (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics) or B.Sc. in Engineering.
- Technicians: Matriculation/SSLC plus ITI (NCVT/SCVT) or Act Apprenticeship in the required trade.
- Junior Clerk cum Typist: 12th (+2 stage) or equivalent with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks (50% rule relaxed for SC/ST/PwBD and higher-qualified candidates). Typing proficiency in English/Hindi on computer is mandatory.
- Commercial Clerk cum Ticket Collector: 12th (+2 stage) or equivalent with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks (relaxed for SC/ST/PwBD and higher-qualified candidates).
Age Limit (Reckoned as on 01.01.2027)
- Unreserved (UR): Upper age limit is 42 years
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): Upper age limit is 45 years
- SC / ST: Upper age limit is 47 years
Application Fee
- No application fee is required for GDCE recruitment.
Selection Process
The selection process comprises a single-stage Computer Based Test (CBT), followed by post-specific skill tests, Document Verification, and a Medical Examination:
- Computer Based Test (CBT):
- Negative marking of 1/3rd mark per wrong answer.
- Qualifying Cut-offs: UR – 40%, OBC (NCL) – 30%, SC – 30%, ST – 25%.
- Additional Tests (Post-specific):
- ALP & Station Master: Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT).
- Junior Clerk cum Typist: Computer Based Typing Skill Test (CBTST).
- Other Posts (JE, Technicians, Goods Trains Manager, Ticket Collector): Direct selection based on CBT merit.
- Document Verification (DV) & Medical Examination.

- Fill in your personal details, service details, and qualifications accurately.
- Upload required documents, including a recent passport-sized photograph (35mm x 45mm, JPEG) and scanned signature.
- Submit the registration and download the PDF copy of the application form.
- Get the printed application signed and forwarded by your controlling officer/immediate supervisor.
- Upload the signed supervisor declaration copy under the supporting documents section on the portal to finalize the application.
