IBPS PO Recruitment 2026: Apply Online for 6,715 Probationary Officer Posts
The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has officially released the notification for the Common Recruitment Process (CRP PO/MT-XVI) for the recruitment of Probationary Officers (PO) and Management Trainees (MT) for the vacancies of 2027-28.

IBPS PO Recruitment 2026 : Vacancy Details
An indicative total of 6,715 vacancies have been announced across various participating public sector banks. The bank-wise breakdown is provided below:
- Bank of Baroda: 1,900 posts
- Bank of India: 500 posts
- Bank of Maharashtra: 1,100 posts
- Canara Bank: 1,500 posts
- Central Bank of India: 500 posts
- Indian Overseas Bank: 550 posts
- Punjab National Bank: 504 posts
- Punjab & Sind Bank: 161 posts
- Note: Indian Bank, UCO Bank, and Union Bank of India have not reported (NR) vacancies yet.
Salary & Pay Scale
Selected candidates will be placed on the following official scale:
- Basic Pay: Starting at ₹48,480/- on the scale of 48480-2000/7-62480-2340/2-67160-2680/7-85920.
- Perquisites & Allowances: Officers will be eligible for Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA) or company accommodation, Medical Allowance, and other benefits as per individual bank rules.
IBPS PO Recruitment 2026 : Eligibility Criteria
1. Educational Qualification (As on 21.07.2026)
- Candidates must possess a Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a university recognized by the Government of India or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.
- The final results must have been declared on or before 21.07.2026. Candidates must input their graduation percentage when filling out the online application.
2. Age Limit (As on 01.07.2026)
- Minimum Age: 20 years
- Maximum Age: 30 years
- Note: Candidates must be born between 02.07.1996 and 01.07.2006 (both dates inclusive).
- Upper Age Relaxations: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), and 10 years for PwBD candidates.
Selection Process
The selection consists of a three-stage structural format:
- Online Preliminary Examination: A 60-minute objective test consisting of English Language (30 marks), Quantitative Aptitude (35 marks), and Reasoning Ability (35 marks). Penalty for wrong answers is 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question.
- Online Main Examination: Comprises both objective tests (Reasoning, General/Economy/Banking Awareness, English Language, Data Analysis & Interpretation) totaling 200 marks, and a descriptive test (Essay and Comprehension) worth 25 marks.
- Personality Test & Common Interview: Candidates qualifying the Main Examination will undergo a personality profile mapping followed by an interview evaluated out of 100 marks. The final merit weightage ratio between the Main Exam and the Interview is 80:20.
Application Fee
Fees must be paid online within the registration window:
- ₹175/- (inclusive of GST) for SC / ST / PwBD candidates.
- ₹850/- (inclusive of GST) for all other candidates.

- Go to the official IBPS portal:
www.ibps.in. - Click on the link “CRP PO/MT” on the home page and open the registration link for CRP-PO/MT-XVI.
- Select “Click here for New Registration” and input basic contact and personal details.
- Log back in with your system-generated Provisional Registration Number and Password to fill out the remaining application fields.
- Upload required documents: a recent passport-size photograph, full signature (not in capital letters), left thumb impression, a handwritten declaration, and matriculation level certificates. A live photo capture is also required during registration.
- Select your preferred bank choices in the integrated option form.
- Complete the payment process through the integrated online gateway and print the final application form and e-receipt for your records.
